What is Dune?

DuneSQL is Trino-derived with blockchain types for hashes, addresses and large integers. Query views compose analysis; materialized views precompute repeated results. Charts, tables, counters and text widgets present the output.

Inspect metric definitions and last execution: authors may count volume, wallets or P&L differently, and a dashboard needs reruns or schedules to stay fresh. Choose the initial dashboard name carefully because its generated URL slug is documented as unchangeable.

Who it is for

  • Custom on-chain metrics.
  • Integrating query results.
  • Publishing reproducible dashboards.

Workflows with Dune

Define metrics

Specify included fills/wallets and inspect SQL before comparing charts.

Build a dashboard

Validate results and label units and coverage.

Plan refresh

Estimate queries and exports before frequent schedules.

Pricing and total cost

Free is view-only for existing dashboards/results, without recurring monthly query credits. Paid monthly credits do not roll over. Execution, refresh and export consume credits; paid plans offer extra-usage caps.

Trial: New accounts receive 2,500 total trial credits and Plus features for up to 14 days; the first limit reached ends the trial.

Getting started

Before you start: Author metric definitions differ.

  1. Find a dataset or dashboard.
  2. Read SQL and last execution.
  3. Create an account for writing/running queries.
  4. Validate a bounded query.
  5. Add charts and explanations.
  6. Set refresh and credit budget.

Dashboard freshness requires query reruns or scheduling.
