PolyBackTest

PolyBackTest records the UP and DOWN books, metadata, reference prices and results of supported short-duration crypto markets. Developers can retrieve historical states through REST, while Strategy Builder and Backtest AI offer separate testing interfaces according to the chosen access. An AI subscription does not include paid Data API access.

What is PolyBackTest?

Both outcome tokens have full bid and ask depth, with sub-second snapshots and timestamp lookup for a chosen historical moment. Recorded Chainlink inputs help compare the contract with its reference market, and closed-round records retain metadata and resolution results. The configurator lists BTC, ETH and SOL windows with differing timeframe coverage.

A book replay is only as broad as the capture history and assumptions used. Coverage starts when the provider recorded that market; a snapshot alone does not model queue priority or prove a resting fill. Write down fees, sizing and execution rules before comparing strategies, and distinguish unlimited request volume from per-second and per-minute throughput limits.

Who it is for

  • Developers testing execution against historical depth.
  • Researchers studying short-duration crypto rounds.
  • Non-coders describing a backtest in natural language.

Features and coverage

  • Both full-depth outcome books

Retrieve the complete bid and ask levels for UP and DOWN tokens.

  • Historical timestamp lookup

Query a specific moment or use sub-second snapshot sequences to inspect spread, depth and possible slippage.

  • Reference and resolved records

Compare recorded Chainlink inputs with market metadata and resolution results for completed supported rounds.

  • REST Data API

Retrieve markets, snapshots and historical states through documented endpoints.

  • Strategy Builder and Backtest AI

Build a test or describe one in natural language according to the selected entitlement; AI and data access remain separate.

  • Dedicated deployment options

Choose isolated compute, region and endpoint options for a larger integration.

Workflows with PolyBackTest

Test an entry rule

Define trigger, round and entry time, retrieve that historical book and model the intended size against available depth.

Compare a rule across rounds

Apply the same sizing, fee and fill assumptions to each supported market and retain resolved outcomes in the result set.

Choose AI and data access

Use AI for natural-language experiments and add a data plan only if API access or larger history and throughput are also required.

Pricing and total cost

Free provides a limited recent-market window. Paid data configurations vary by history and throughput, while AI is purchased separately. Longer history and dedicated infrastructure are configurable; the displayed dedicated example for 1 coin is $709.90/month.

Free

$0

  • Recent BTC windows by timeframe
  • Full-depth snapshots and timestamp queries within access limits

Pro — displayed base configuration

$19.90/month

  • 31-day history
  • 10 requests/second and 300 requests/minute
  • Full Data API; limited Strategy Builder; no AI access

AI

$35/month

  • Approximately 100 AI backtests/month
  • Strategy Builder and AI strategy analysis
  • No Data API access

Getting started

Before you start: Capture start dates bound the available history.

  1. Create a free account, choose a supported crypto timeframe and inspect a recent market’s metadata and outcome books.
  2. Write down entry, exit, sizing and fill assumptions before running timestamp queries or Strategy Builder.
  3. Check the history, coin and throughput entitlement, and add separate AI access for natural-language backtests if needed.

History starts when the provider recorded the market, not at the venue’s beginning.

What to check

  • Capture start dates bound the available history.
  • BTC, ETH and SOL configurations have different timeframe coverage.
  • Unlimited request volume remains subject to per-second and per-minute limits.
  • Snapshots alone do not model queue priority or prove that a resting order would fill.
  • AI and Data API plans have separate entitlements.

Our take on PolyBackTest

Timestamped full-depth books and separate testing tools are useful for crypto-round replay. Capture starts, plan windows and modeled fills constrain the conclusions, especially when a strategy depends on queue position or actual execution.
