ClearMarket: inspect what a contract resolves on

ClearMarket is an open reference layer for prediction-market definitions, resolution sources and related questions. Its website, REST API and read-only MCP server support research across Polymarket and Kalshi rather than execution-sensitive price monitoring.

What is ClearMarket?

A Resolution Clarity Grade (RCG) assigns A, B or C to the clarity of settlement terms. Named sources and provenance help explain that assessment, including the classified absence of a source. The grade is about contract interpretation, not the probability of a winning outcome.

Cross-venue research uses shared question IDs and also_on links while each event stays a single-venue bundle. The catalyst calendar adds relevant real-world events. Inspect live API schemas because older reference specimens can combine events differently; prices refresh hourly.

Who it is for

  • Risk teams reviewing source clarity.
  • Developers building read-only research agents.

Workflows with ClearMarket

Review a settlement question

Find the market, inspect grade and provenance, then read original rules for remaining ambiguity.

Compare venue definitions

Follow question links and inspect the separate venue events.

Build a research agent

Connect the HTTP MCP endpoint and request concise event detail for large market bundles.

Pricing and total cost

The read-only site, REST API and MCP endpoint are open without signup or a key. The repository is MIT-licensed.

Getting started

Before you start: Prices update hourly.

  1. Search the public API or website and open an event/market record.
  2. Inspect source, grade and catalyst dates; follow venue-question links.
  3. For agents, connect the documented HTTP MCP endpoint.

Hourly prices are unsuitable as an execution-price feed.

What to check

  • Prices update hourly.
  • RCG measures clarity, not outcome probability.
  • Events are single-venue; shared question IDs link venues.
  • Prefer Polymarket condition ID where URL lookup is unsupported or best-effort.
  • Older specimens can use a combined-event schema unlike the live API.
