## What is PMXT open-source SDK?

For each venue, the adapters expose markets, order books, positions and orders where supported. Check the repository's capability matrix for the methods and write access available in your chosen venue and mode. Related CLI and MCP packages provide terminal and assistant access; migration support also covers Dome-style integrations.

Plan to operate the runtime and storage when self-hosting the MIT-licensed code; there is no package charge. Even with the Python client, local pmxt-core runs on Node.js. Hosted catalog identifiers and venue-native IDs belong to different contexts, and installing the SDK does not include hosted plan allowances.

### Who it is for

- Developers integrating several venues.
- Teams operating their own backend.
- Projects migrating venue-specific or Dome-style integrations.

## Clients and supported operations

- **Python and TypeScript**

Use pmxt or pmxtjs with a common high-level interface.

- **Local backend**

Operate pmxt-core instead of hosted infrastructure.

- **Venue adapters**

Query markets, books, positions and orders where supported.

- **Capability matrix**

Check venue and method differences in the repository.

- **CLI and MCP**

Related packages expose terminal and assistant access.

- **Migration support**

    Use documented Dome-style migration tooling.

## Development workflows

### Prototype adapters

Run the same bounded market query on two venues and compare the returned IDs. Before adding orders, use the capability matrix to check which methods and write access each venue supports in your chosen mode.

### Select a runtime

Choose hosted catalog infrastructure or local pmxt-core with venue-native credentials and self-operated execution.

## Pricing and total cost

MIT-licensed code is free to self-host. Runtime, storage and applicable venue costs remain yours. Hosted PMXT plans are a separate service.

## Installation and configuration

1. Open the official repository and package links.
2. Install the chosen client and Node.js for local pmxt-core.
3. Select hosted or self-hosted mode explicitly.
4. Start with market reads and no writes.
5. Add only the venue credentials and methods your application needs.

Local Python use still requires the Node.js backend.

### What to check

- Methods and write access vary by venue and mode.
- Hosted catalog IDs and venue-native IDs are not interchangeable.
- Installing the open-source package does not include hosted allowances.

### Our take on PMXT open-source SDK

The shared interface gives multi-venue code a common structure; the capability matrix shows where venue-specific handling remains necessary. Expect more setup than with a standalone client, because you must account for the hosting mode and, if running locally, operate the backend.
